Year-by-Year Breakdown 

The International Business Strategy course is based on the fundamental principles of strategic management and focuses on strategy development within organizations. Emphasis is placed on strategic analysis at the corporate and business unit levels, as well as on the formulation and implementation of strategies. Strategic management emphasizes the identification and evaluation of environmental opportunities and threats in light of the strengths and weaknesses of the organization’s value chain, in order to strengthen its core competencies and build a sustainable competitive advantage.

DBA674 - Quantitative and Qualitative Methods (10 ECTS / 4 US Credits)

An introduction to a range of quantitative and qualitative data collection methods, as well as data analysis methods. Students will explore different research approaches (quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods) and learn to distinguish between them.   Qualitative methods include action research,  appreciative inquiry,  focus groups, interviews, and narrative data analysis. Quantitative methods include descriptive research designs, experimental and post hoc designs, as well as descriptive statistics.

DBA673  - Business Research Methods (10 ECTS / 4 US Credits)

This course focuses on developing research skills and designing research projects for the business world. Students will explore different research approaches and learn about the strategies, methods, and techniques used. They will be required to develop a management research proposal, formulate primary and secondary research questions, devise a data collection strategy, conduct a literature review, create a model of expected results or outcomes, and, finally, identify ways to implement their study by involving stakeholders.

This course focuses on developing a dissertation proposal under the supervision of a doctoral faculty member. During this course, students will receive guidance on drafting their dissertation proposal and, upon completion, will have a research proposal ready for submission to Horizons University.

This course explores the cultural, social, political, historical, religious, legal, and communicational influences that shape negotiations, consultations, transactions, and conflicts in the field of international trade. The focus will be on major global business cultures, including those of Latin America, the Asia-Pacific region, Eastern and Western Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. The goal is to develop practical skills in international business communication, which are essential for success in an increasingly globalized business world.

DBA660 - Global Economy (10 ECTS / 4 US Credits)

This course examines the global economy from a global perspective as well as from various local perspectives. Globalization has strengthened the interdependence of economies around the world, but this interdependence does not mean that all differences between economies have disappeared. The global economy is made up of many different actors, some international—such as the World Bank, the IMF, the WTO, and large multinational corporations—some national—such as national governments—and others local. This course is designed to examine both the global economy as a whole and some of its specific components.

DBA661 - Multicultural Management (10 ECTS / 4 US Credits)

This course aims to help students understand the principles of effective intercultural management, as well as the challenges they are likely to face in an international professional setting. It focuses primarily on organizational behavior in an international context, as well as human resources issues and practices within transnational organizations.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
   - Formulate a thesis topic
    - Evaluate resources useful for developing a thesis proposal
    - Write a thesis or dissertation proposal

The objective of this course is to introduce students to the various aspects of international communication and to show how it is influenced by history, language, and culture. The course also addresses the issues, challenges, and obstacles associated with international communication, particularly in the fields of politics, journalism, science, and business.

DBA782 - Journal Writing (20 ECTS / 8 US Credits)

This course enables students to acquire the skills necessary to write, proofread, revise, and format an original article that meets the publication standards of an academic journal. Upon completion of the course, students will have their article published in the "Horizons University Business Journal".

DBA810 - Dissertation Writing up and Defense (40 ECTS/16 US Credits)

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
    - Write a thesis or dissertation proposal
    - Demonstrate their ability to prepare and orally present their thesis or dissertation proposal
