COURSE DESCRIPTION
PHD630 - Entrepreneurship Theory (10 ECTS / 4 US Credits)
This course examines the theoretical concepts related to the entrepreneurial process. It explores entrepreneurship in various economic, social, and globalization contexts. Significant attention is given to the distinctive nature of entrepreneurship as a field of academic research.
PHD650 - Quantitative and Qualitative Methods (10 ECTS / 4 US Credits)
This course provides an in-depth study of the research methods used in management research. It covers the considerations involved in using techniques such as action research, focus groups, interviews, experimental designs, factor analysis, and other methods.
This course focuses on developing research skills and designing research projects for the business world. Students will explore different research approaches and learn about the strategies, methods, and techniques used. They will be required to develop a management research proposal, formulate primary and secondary research questions, devise a data collection strategy, conduct a literature review, create a model of expected results or outcomes, and, finally, identify ways to implement their study by involving stakeholders.
PHD792 - Dissertation Proposal (10 ECTS / 4 US Credits)
This course focuses on developing a dissertation proposal under the supervision of a doctoral faculty member. During this course, students will receive guidance in drafting their dissertation proposal and, upon completion, will have a research proposal ready for submission to Horizons University.
PHD730 - Entrepreneurial Intelligence (10 ECTS / 4 US Credits)
This course examines entrepreneurship from the perspective of the sources of knowledge that influence entrepreneurs and their environment. In particular, it explores the contributions of raw data, economic processes, technology, and psychology.
PHD610 - International Business Strategy (10 ECTS / 4 US Credits)
This course is based on the fundamental principles of strategic management and focuses on strategic decisions within international companies. The emphasis is on corporate-level analysis, strategy development and implementation, and the goal of creating a sustainable competitive advantage in the global market.
PHD782 - Journal Writing (20 ECTS/8US Credits)
This course enables students to acquire the skills necessary to write, proofread, revise, and format an original article that meets the publication standards of an academic journal. Upon completion of the course, students will have their article published in the "Horizons University Business Journal".
PHD802 - Dissertation Writing (40 ECTS/16 US Credits)
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Formulate a thesis topic
- Evaluate resources useful for developing a thesis proposal
- Write a thesis or dissertation proposal
PHD830 - Global Entrepreneurship (10 ECTS / 4 US Credits)
This course examines the application of theory to practical research topics and protocols in the field of entrepreneurship. It reviews various social, economic, and managerial phenomena that influence the entrepreneurial process. This course serves as preparation for conducting thesis-level research.
PHD832 - The Future of Entrepreneurship (10 ECTS / 4 US Credits)
This course explores trends in entrepreneurship for the coming decade, in light of changing business needs, technologies, and the needs that will emerge over the years on a global scale.
PHD810 - Dissertation Writing up and Defense (40 ECTS/16 US credits)
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Write a thesis or dissertation proposal
- Demonstrate their ability to prepare and orally present their thesis or dissertation proposal.
